Stan Huff, MD | Board Chair, CEO
Dr. Huff is Professor (Clinical) of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah, and the Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Intermountain Healthcare. He is board certified in Clinical Pathology, and in Clinical Informatics. He has worked in the area of medical vocabularies and medical database architecture for the past 25 years. He is currently a fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics, a co-chair of the LOINC Committee, and chair of HL7. He was previously a member of the ONC HIT Standards Committee. He teaches a course in medical vocabulary and data exchange standards in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah.

Laura Heermann, PhD, RN | COO

Laura Heermann Langford PhD, RN, is a Nurse Informaticist at Intermountain Healthcare and an Assistant Professor in the Nursing Informatics Program at the College of Nursing at University of Utah, in Salt Lake City, where she co-teaches the Clinical Decision Making/Clinical Decision Support course for the nursing and biomedical informatics programs. Her expertise is in clinical workflow analysis, care plan, care coordination, requirements definition and defining clinical standards. She is currently co-chair of the HL7 Emergency Care Working Group (ECWG); Patient Care Working Group (PCWG); and Healthcare Standards Integration Working Group (HSI). She is currently chair of the AMIA Nursing Informatics Working Group (NIWG), co-chair of the IHE Patient Care Coordination (PCC) Planning Committee and an IHE-USA Board member. She has served as co-chair of the IHE Patient Care Coordination (PCC) Technical Committee. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and the founder and current member of the Utah Nursing Informatics Network (UNIN).

Preston Lee, PhD, MBA | CTO

Dr. Preston Lee serves as Chief Systems Architect for Arizona State University (ASU) in Biomedical Informatics in Tempe, Arizona, and holds an appointment in the office of Knowledge-Based Systems for US Veterans Health Administration (VHA). He is a TOGAF Certified architect and active contributor to HSPC, OMG, and HL7. In previous roles he served as Chief Architect for Glynlyon courseware, Faculty Adjunct in the College of Technology and Innovation at ASU, knowledge software architect for the Translational Genomic Research Institute (TGen) supporting n-of-1 oncology trials, and in similar roles at vendor organizations designing enterprise architectures and software systems. His dissertation on CDS Architecture for the 21st Century covers future-facing approaches towards building knowledge-driven, realtime systems. Other published works and patents focus on scalable approaches to biomedical informatics challenges.

Bo Dagnall | CIO

Bo Dagnall is the Chief Technologist and Strategist for the Provider Segment of Perspecta’s Healthcare Group. Bo’s background is in health informatics and enterprise architecture. As a health informatician, Bo understand the unique data and information challenges in the healthcare industry. Bo has experience with clinical terminologies, information models, healthcare standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR), decision support, knowledge management and analytics. As an enterprise architect, Bo is adept at understanding the big picture and aligning the pieces for an optimal solution. The combination of these two skill sets enables Bo to excel at understanding, delivering and overseeing healthcare related opportunities, technologies and solutions.


Board of Directors

The Board of Directors sets organizational strategy, appoints senior management, facilitates financial viability, and ensuring that the mission is carried out effectively. Board members are expected to foremost represent HSPC in formal meetings, as opposed to prioritizing stakeholder interests from whom they are employed. The Board of Directors is composed of:
